Drumming Tips: It's all about stick control
I'm sitting here browsing the comments made throughout this website and I had to chime in on this subject. To begin with girls, to be a power drummer, yes, you want to put some balls into your attack- (arm stroke) however, It's about having good stick control. What I mean about that is, the way the stick meets the head of the drum. Solid, controlled and powerful. To obtain that, there are simple excercises you can practice and warm up with to acheive this. I am 44 years old, 5'4" at 120lbs and I get balls to the walls, thunderous riffs when I perform without killing me or my drums. It's all in the attack. Anyone interested in discussing this further, drop me a line. Peace, Sue Balaschak www.burningsage.net
